Fall River Cardiology NP or PA

Prima CARE’s Cardiology Division has an immediate opening for a hospital-based Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its team of Board-certified cardiologists.

The successful candidate will be a member of the inpatient rounding team at Saint Anne’s Hospital. He/she will see consults and provide follow-up care to inpatients under the supervision of a Prima CARE cardiologist, will care for interventional patients before and after procedures, and will be responsible for coordinating follow-up care and communicating with Hospitalists and Primary Care Providers. Training in the supervision of cardiac stress tests can be arranged. They will not be part of the acute STEMI emergency team and will not be scrubbing in the cath lab. The schedule is three 10-hour days during the week, with day coverage on a rotating basis every fourth weekend.

The NP/PA will be an employee of PrimaCARE with full benefits of an Advanced Practice Provider (APP). The NP/PA must be licensed in Massachusetts, hold a valid Drug Enforcement Agency certificate, and a Mass controlled substances registration. Familiarity with cardiac diagnoses, cardiac procedures, and cardiac medications are expected, and experience with cardiac cath patients is desirable. Computer skills, including eClinicalworks, Meditech, and Epic will be required. Compassion, maturity, organizational skills, and excellent communication are essential, as is the ability to work in a specialty team and within a hospital system.

Compensation will be commensurate with the practitioner’s experience, training, and confidence. Benefits include health insurance, malpractice coverage, a 401K retirement plan, a CME allowance, and PTO.

Fall River is in a lovely part of New England, surrounded by city, waterfront, suburban, or farmland communities. Twenty minutes from Providence, 45 minutes from Boston, and 30 minutes from Cape Cod and Newport, this is an attractive location with a multitude of choices for home and recreation.
