Dr. Stephen Butler is an experienced, Board-certified Primary Care physician. He earned his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, and completed his Residency in Family Medicine at Hunterdon Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Butler was the Medical Director of Dartmouth Medical Center since 2000, prior to moving his practice to Westport in late 2020.
Dr. Butler’ interests include sports medicine, preventive health care, and developing personalized patient education strategies for disease management and wellness. He is the founder of three health-related websites, including MyPhotoDiet.com. Dr. Butler is married to Debra Curtis, Ph.D., and they have twin daughters. He has lived in Europe and the Middle East, and has completed several marathons, endurance cycling events and the Ironman® triathlon.
Dr. Butler is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Butler is affiliated with Saint Anne's Hospital (a Brown University facility) in Fall River. He sees outpatients in Prima CARE’s Westport office at 831 Main Road.
